1 killed, several injured in Claiborne County crash

CLAIBORNE COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – One person was killed and several people were injured during a multi-vehicle crash in Claiborne County.

The crash occurred on MS-547 near Tillman Road before 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 5.

According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP), a 2007 GMC side-swiped a 2011 Nissan Rouge and collided with a 2023 Ford Transit.

The driver of the GMC, 65-year-old Charles Oliver, of Fayette, received fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver and six passengers in the Ford were transported to Claiborne County Medical in Port Gibson and Merit Health in Natchez with unknown injuries. The driver of the Nissan was not injured.

This crash remains under investigation by MHP.
