JPD seeks justice for man whose body was found in trunk of car

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police are working to solve the homicide case of Patrick Townsend.

Townsend’s body was found in the trunk of a vehicle in the 4500 block of Raymond Road on October 4, 2023. The 37-year-old had been shot.

Investigators determined the vehicle had been at the location for a couple of days.

Jackson Police Chief Joseph Wade was joined by Townsend’s family on Wednesday, February 5. They asked the public to come forward with information on the case.

“I am here as a mother, pleading for anyone who knows anything to come forward and help us out. Because I need closure for my son. I need that closure. We all do,” said Patricia Tucker Townsend, the victim’s mother.
