Investigations revealed that 40-year-old Adrian Combs of Minden was killed in the crash after his vehicle exited the roadway while traveling west on Moody Road and collided with a tree.
Authorities said Combs was not wearing a seatbelt before being ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger was also unrestrained in the vehicle and sustained minor injuries. The passenger was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
“While not all crashes are survivable, statistics show that properly wearing your seat belt will dramatically reduce your chance of being severely injured or killed in a crash. Louisiana law requires that every person in a vehicle, regardless of seating position, always remain buckled up. Properly wearing your seat belt is one of the most effective ways to save your life and reduce injuries during crashes,” a press release stated.
The crash remains under investigation, and updates will be provided as they become available.
