Kolbe Ross Thomas, 21, and Jalon T. Breaux, 21, both of Opelousas, are each charged with one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, one count of possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and two counts of possession of drugs in the presence of a minor.
Officials said Narcotics Detectives with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office said they were informed that Thomas had a large amount of drugs in a home in the 1100 block of Jennings Road near Opelousas.
Thomas was seen Thursday in the driver’s seat of a silver Lexus in the driveway, and Breaux was in the passenger seat.
Officers searched the vehicle and found approximately 246 grams (just over half a pound) of suspected marijuana and approximately 6 grams of suspected crack cocaine.
Thomas and Breaux were booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail. Bond details were not released.
St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz said the officers were working the “Safe Neighborhood” Grant Program.
