SANDY, Utah (
ABC4) — Three juvenile suspects have been arrested in connection with a
shooting on Monday that killed a 39-year-old man.
Just before 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 13, 2025, the Sandy Police Department responded to a report of a robbery in progress near Main Street Park, 8720 S 60 E. Upon arrival, first responders discovered that an adult man had been shot, and he was transported to the hospital.
Police say an attempted robbery turned into an argument, leading to the man being shot. The victim, identified as 39-year-old Josh Pectol, succumbed to his injuries despite lifesaving efforts.
Today, the Sandy Police Department announced that three juvenile suspects were arrested on Oct. 15, and formal charges are currently being reviewed by the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office. Due to the age of the suspects, little information will be available about them unless they are charged as adults.
Police do not believe there are any other outstanding suspects.
“We appreciate all the assistance from the public and from multiple other police agencies that helped us with the investigation of this incident and arrest of the suspects,” the Sandy Police Department expressed in their press release.
