One of the home’s occupants told IFD that unattended burn barrels may have caused the house fire. That occupant suggested that the fire likely spread to the house from the burn barrels, which were situated in the property’s back yard.
IFD confirmed that nobody was injured during the fire. The agency also indicated that it is still actively investigating the circumstances surrounding Monday’s blaze.
As of this article’s publication, IFD had not disclosed the exact number of occupants that were displaced in Monday’s fire.
