INDIANAPOLIS — A residence fire on west side of Indianapolis left four people displaced Tuesday evening.
In a Facebook post, the Indianapolis Fire Department confirmed that its crews, and units from the Speedway and Pike Township fire departments, responded to the 4900 block of Patricia Street around 7:44 p.m. When firefighters arrived at the scene, they found heavy smoke emanating from an area home.

Crews made an aggressive attack on the fire and brought it under control in 20 minutes. IFD confirmed that nobody was injured during the fire, though three adults and one juvenile were displaced by it.
IFD’s victims assistance unit is working with the Red Cross to help the displaced individuals find shelter.
IFD fire investigators are still working to determine the exact cause of the blaze. Investigators believe the fire first broke out in the home’s attic.
