4 undocumented suspects detained after laser pointed at border patrol helicopter
The Federal Bureau of Investigation Portland Division announced Monday that they located and searched the home of a suspect who is accused of aiming a laser at a Customs and Border Patrol helicopter.
The helicopter, as well as another aircraft, was being used to conduct law enforcement activity on the evening of Sept. 27 when a laser was pointed at it, according to the FBI. The agency did not share the details of what the law enforcement activity included or why it was being carried out.
Agents contacted the suspect as well as three other people who lived at the home on Monday morning and determined all were in the U.S. illegally, authorities said. The four individuals were placed into Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody. Their identities have not been released.
