Family of 4 displaced in by fire on near west side of Indianapolis; 2 dogs and cat safe

INDIANAPOLIS — A family of four returned home around 1:15 a.m. on Saturday to find their home ablaze.

According to an X post from IFD, the fire broke out in the 500 block of Centennial Street.

Another family of five was forced to evacuate from their home as the fire encroached upon their house.

Once IFD arrived at the scene of the fire, they made an aggressive attack and the fire was under control within 20 minutes.

Firefighters were able to keep the second house’s damage to just the exterior of the residence.

No one was injured, and the family of four was able to get their two dogs and cat out safely.
