Frankfort man dead after vehicle collides with a tree in Carroll County

DELPHI, Ind. — A Frankfort man is dead after he was involved in a head-on car crash with a tree in Carroll County.

At approximately 5:28 a.m. Monday, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a single-vehicle crash off of U.S. Highway 421.

Officers arrived on scene and found two occupants in the vehicle — a driver and a passenger. The driver was transported by ambulance to IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette before he was transferred to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

The passenger, a Frankfort man, was pronounced dead on-scene by medical personnel.

Deputies reported that a 2000 Mitsubishi Sedan was travelling northbound on U.S. Highway 421 when the driver, for an unknown reason, veered off the roadway. The vehicle then collided with a tree on private property just south of Country Road 400 South.

The Indiana State Police, alongside the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department, are currently investigating the crash.

No other information on the crash is available at this time.
