BREAUX BRIDGE, La. (KLFY) — A single-vehicle fatality crash occurred on LA. 31 near Oleste Tauzin Road in St. Martin Parish on Friday evening, officials said.
The crash claimed the life of Alex James, 60, of Scott, officials said.
During the investigation, it revealed that a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by James, was allegedly traveling south on LA.31. For reasons still under investigation, the Chevrolet allegedly traveled off the roadway to the right while in a curve. As James attempted to regain control, he overcorrected, causing the Chevrolet to leave the roadway again, strike a building, and overturn, officials said.
According to officials, James sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. Routine toxicology samples were collected for analysis.
This crash remains under investigation.
