By rssfeeds-admin According to Hartselle police, a domestic incident that happened Monday has landed Silas Cain Hamm, 28, of Rogersville, behind bars. Hartselle police said Hamm was in a dating relationship with a woman he is accused of assaulting after a social gathering.
According to evidence and witness statements, Hamm physically attacked the woman placing his hands around her neck and impeding her breathing.
The Hartselle Police Department said investigators could notice visible injuries consistent with strangulation. During the assault, Hamm allegedly threatened to kill the woman, her young child and himself.
After interviewing the female victim, collecting evidence and reviewing medical evaluations, authorities determined there was probable cause to charge Hamm with domestic violence by strangulation and domestic violence, which incorporates burglary.
Hamm was arrested on warrants obtained by authorities. He was booked into the Morgan County Jail and was issued a $50,000 bond.
