2 people shot in Philadelphia near Eagles Super Bowl parade: report
(WHTM) — Multiple people were shot in Philadelphia during the Eagles Super Bowl parade near the parade route Friday afternoon, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Two women were shot by a man wearing an Eagles jersey near the Park Towne Place apartments and 23rd Street, the Philadelphia Police Deputy Police Commissioner Frank Vanore told The Inquirer.

The victims are reportedly in stable condition.

Police are investigating where exactly the shooting happened, if the women knew the shooter, and what prompted the shooting.

Just weeks ago, a college student died falling from a street pole after the Eagles’ won the NFC championship game. A year ago, a shooting at Kansas City’s Super Bowl victory rally left

one person dead and nearly two dozen wounded.

Hundreds of thousands of people flocked to the city of Philadelphia for the Eagles Super Bowl parade, filling streets, sidewalks, and buildings. There was a large police presence along the Philadelphia parade route, which stretched from South Philadelphia where the Eagles play all the way to City Hall and onto the art museum.

Dump trucks and heavy equipment blocked many of the side streets along the route. City schools closed for the parade, along with city courts and other agencies.

The Eagles beat the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX 40-22.
