WWE Announces Summer Tour, Returning to Atlantic City After Nearly Two Decades

WWE heads back to Atlantic City on June 29. It’s been almost 20 years since the company ran televised shows there. They’ve added 16 new stops for Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown this summer.

Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall will host both shows on Monday, June 29. Raw goes live that night, while SmackDown airs in its usual Friday slot on July 3.

The last time WWE ran a televised show in Atlantic City was 2008 with SmackDown. But the venue has history. WrestleMania V happened there in 1989. WrestleMania IV took place at the same spot in 1988.

“WWE’s return to Atlantic City marks another exciting chapter in our city’s ongoing evolution as a premier entertainment destination,” said Gary Musich, President and CEO of Visit Atlantic City, according to Fox News. “From legendary WrestleMania moments to today’s world-class performances, Atlantic City continues to deliver dynamic, year-round experiences for visitors.”

Jim McDonald runs Boardwalk Hall for Oak View Group. He mentioned the venue’s long ties with WWE. “We are grateful to partner with Visit Atlantic City, the Atlantic City Sports Commission, and WWE to bring two major nationally televised events,” McDonald said.

The tour kicks off in late June and wraps in early September. Chicago gets Raw on July 6 at Allstate Arena. Dallas hosts Raw on July 13 at American Airlines Center.

SmackDown hits Oklahoma City on July 10 at Paycom Center. Then Albany on July 17 at MVP Arena. Oakland gets the show on July 24 at Oakland Arena.

Detroit takes Raw on July 20 at Little Caesars Arena. Inglewood hosts Raw on July 27 at Intuit Dome. Green Bay sees SmackDown on July 31 at the Resch Center.

Des Moines welcomes Raw on August 3 at Casey’s Center. Norfolk gets Raw on August 10 at Scope Arena. Buffalo hosts Raw on August 17 at KeyBank Center.

Cleveland takes SmackDown on August 28 at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. Charlotte gets Raw on August 31 at the Spectrum Center. Cincinnati hosts SmackDown on September 4 at Heritage Bank Center. Birmingham wraps up the announced dates on September 7 with Raw at the Legacy Center at BJCC.

Tickets become available Friday, May 15, at 10 a.m. local time. A presale begins Thursday, May 14, at 10 a.m. local time. Fans can buy tickets through Ticketmaster.com.
