Parts of Arkansas are currently experiencing dry conditions, increasing the risk of wildfires. Sparks from fireworks, outdoor equipment, or open flames can ignite dry vegetation and allow fires to spread quickly.
The Arkansas Department of Emergency Management maintains a county-by-county wildfire danger map, ranking risk as extreme, high, moderate, or low based on fuel, drought, and weather conditions. Many counties are currently at moderate risk, with burn bans in effect for Benton, Carroll, Crawford, Madison, and Washington counties.
Officials urge residents to take precautions: avoid outdoor burning, fireworks, campfires, and open-flame grilling; exercise caution when driving or operating machinery in dry areas; and keep water nearby if sparks could occur. Anyone spotting a fire should call 1-800-468-8834 and avoid flying drones near fires.
