Baxter County reports sales tax growth in latest figures

Sales tax collections in Baxter County increased both for the month and year to date, according to figures released by county officials.
The county’s general sales tax revenue was up 0.8% compared with the same month last year, an increase of $3,889. Year-to-date collections rose 1.7%, totaling an additional $107,220 over last year’s pace.

Baxter County’s jail sales tax also posted gains. Collections for the month increased by $1,707, while year-to-date revenue is up $47,064.

County officials say the increases reflect steady consumer activity and provide additional funding to support county operations and jail-related expenses.
