The drive was held in partnership with KTLO, Classic Hits, The Boot and Jiffy Laundry, and marked a change from the traditional annual coat drive. Organizers shifted the focus to hoodies after recognizing that many students prefer them over heavier winter coats and are more likely to wear them regularly. Organizers state that the community stepped up with generous donations this season.
Donations were accepted through late November at collection sites in Mountain Home, including KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot on Highway 5 North, Jiffy Laundry on South Main Street and the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas on Highland Circle.
All donated hoodies have been professionally cleaned and are now being distributed among local schools to students in need.
