The suspensions come after players from both the Ragin’ Cajuns and Bobcats were seen fighting on the field following Texas State’s 42-39 loss.
Sun Belt Conference Commissioner Keith Gill said on Monday that there is no place for this type of behavior in college football.
“There is no place for this type of behavior in college football. This unfortunate postgame incident overshadowed what was a competitive regional rivalry game on the field,” Gill said. “While the spirit of competition is central to what we do in college athletics, postgame actions like these will not be tolerated in the Sun Belt Conference.”

When the Red Wolves and Ragin’ Cajuns meet on Thursday, Nov. 20 at Centennial Bank Stadium, it will be Senior Night for A-State in their final home game of the season. The school will also be giving away free “Howl on Wheels” bobbleheads to the first 1,000 fans in attendance.
Arkansas State is one win away from being bowl eligible for the third year in a row under head coach Butch Jones after appearing in the Camellia Bowl in 2023 and 68 Ventures Bowl in 2024.
