
According to a press release from the Fort Wayne Police Department, uniformed detectives with the narcotics division pulled over a Chevy Silverado with Florida plates for speeding on Thursday, November 6. A K-9 team called to the scene detected the possible presence of illegal drugs.
When the driver got out of the pickup, detectives spotted a handgun in plain view. In the bed of the truck, there was a large dog inside a cage. Under the cage, police found a hidden compartment. When they removed the access panel to the compartment, they found approximately 30 individually wrapped kilos, or more than 65 pounds, of cocaine with an estimated street value of more than $600,000.
The driver, 25-year-old Jordon Wayne Lanier, was arrested for dealing in cocaine and possession of marijuana.
