This week, Dixie Power hosted a three-day event in partnership with the Red Cross of Utah, where 557 units of blood were collected. It was the most successful American Red Cross blood drive in Utah in 2025, and one of the most impactful in the past decade.
“Dixie Power’s efforts are a shining example of how organizations can make a real difference,” said Benjamin Donner, Executive Director of the American Red Cross Central and Southern Utah Chapter. “Their commitment to hosting these drives not only ensures a reliable blood supply but also inspires others to get involved. We are incredibly grateful for their partnership.”
Last year, in 2024, 503 units of blood were collected at the Dixie Power annual blood drive. Additionally, it was an increase from 62 units in a one-day drive in 2019.
The American Red Cross shared that blood donations become even more crucial in the winter. Holiday traveling and celebrations often lead to a decline in donations, but emergencies increase demand.
