Janesville teacher fired after sending explicit photos, now charged with child pornography

JANESVILLE, Wis. (WTVO) — A Janesville middle school teacher, accused of sending explicit photos with a student, along with nude photos of his wife, now faces additional charges of child pornography.

Adam Teal, 33, who was a teacher at Franklin Middle School, was arrested in September after police received a tip from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security that an agent had been conducting undercover chats in child exploitation investigations.

Over the course of one investigation, the agent had exchanged messages with a suspect later identified as Teal, officials said.

According to the criminal complaint, the agent posed as the father of an 8-year-old girl. As reported by Channel 3000, Teal allegedly told the agent he had interests in “incest and young,” and had viewed child pornography prior.

Authorities said Teal sent the agent a photo of a Franklin Middle School student taken at the school without her knowledge and made sexually explicit comments.

According to the complaint, Teal also sent the agent a nude photo of his wife without her consent.

He was arrested on September 12th on charges of Representations Depicting Nudity.

On October 17th, 10 new charges were filed against Teal for possession of child pornography. He is due back in court on November 13th.

The Janesville Board of Education terminated Teal’s employment on October 28th, according to online records.
