STONEWALL, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Dakota “KoKo” Denney, a junior at North DeSoto High School and kicker, is raising funds for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. This special initiative, known as Kicking Cancer with KoKo, raised $7,400 last year. This year, the goal is $10,000. Each kick is worth $202 per point.
For every point he kicks during the month of October, Dakota and his family donate money to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. What started last year as a small family idea inspired by their local Hometown Spirit Shop has grown into a major community effort.
Supporters can contribute by pledging a donation per point or giving an amount through the St. Jude website link.

For Dakota, the cause makes every game even more meaningful. “It’s a great feeling knowing that every point not only helps our team win, but also helps children in need,” he said.
