Woman dead after crash involving deer in Morgan County
PARAGON, Ind. — A woman was killed in a crash in Morgan County on Saturday night.

In a Facebook post, the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office reported that the deadly crash occurred on State Road 67 near Paragon.

Per the sheriff’s office, the crash first happened when a driver struck a deer while travelling northbound on SR 67. The impact threw the deer into the southbound lanes of SR 67. Once the deer entered the southbound lanes, it was struck by another vehicle.

A passenger in the southbound vehicle that hit the deer was killed during the collision. The decedent’s family has identified her as Cheyenne Sears.

Sears’ family told FOX59/CBS4 that she worked at Trilogy Health Services and is the mother young twins.

“We are deeply saddened to share that Cheyenne Sears, our Assistant Director of Health Services at The Springs of Mooresville, passed away unexpectedly last night,” a Trilogy Health Services spokesperson wrote in a prepared statement. “Cheyenne was a beloved part of our community whose warmth and dedication touched the lives of many residents and families. Her energy, positivity and love for her residents, teammates and community were unmatched. Her commitment to creating meaningful experiences and caring for others will be remembered always.”

FOX59/CBS4 has reached out to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office for additional information on Saturday night’s crash. The sheriff’s office has yet to respond to FOX59/CBS4’s inquiries.
