Pleasant weather finally returns this weekend
SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Happy Friday, Utah! After a soggy week we’re finally getting some relief with pleasant weather filling in. High pressure is building which is helping push out the storm system and bringing drier warmer conditions. Friday is starting off cold with valleys in the 30s to low 40s and 20s for higher terrain.

We’ll continue warming up as the sun comes out, eventually reaching the upper 50s to low 60s. Meanwhile, mountain valleys will top out in the low 50s and warm spots down south should reach the mid 60s to low 70s. Clear to mostly clear skies are on deck today!

We continue warming up through the weekend with daytime highs in the 60s to low 70s for most, a breeze, and plenty of sunshine. It’ll be a beautiful weekend to get out and stretch your legs after being indoors this week. Sunday will be the warmest day with highs in the upper 60s and low 70s for valleys and mid to upper 70s for warmer spots.

If you plan on catching the University of Utah vs BYU game on Saturday this weekend, all you’ll need is a jacket as it’s expected to be clear and cool with temperatures in the 50s.

We have our eye on a system that’s forecasted to swoop in from the northwest. As of right now it seems the bulk of the moisture will stay just to the north, but a few showers could impact the northernmost part of the state Sunday night into Monday morning. It should be a quick hitter, so it shouldn’t dappen your day too much. The system will transport cooler air into the north with highs dropping from the 70s on Sunday into the 50s for Monday.

We’ll keep you posted on any new developments in our 4Warn Weather forecast both on-air and online, we are Good4Utah!
