Three candidates vie for Grand Coteau Chief of Police

GRAND COTEAU, La. (KLFY) — This Saturday, voters will have the opportunity to elect the next Chief of Police for the Town of Grand Coteau.

The Oct. 11 primary election is between three candidates; if one candidate fails to get a simple majority vote, it will go to a Nov. 15 runoff between the top two candidates.

The race is between Willie Troy Coco, John Jeff Lemelle and Brad Randell.

A police chief plays a crucial role in a police department by overseeing operations, fostering community trust and adapting to evolving challenges in policing.

Polls open Saturday at 7 a.m. and will close at 8 p.m. For information, voters can find their polling place and view a sample ballot by downloading the GeauxVote app or click here for more.
