On their next visit to the Big Apple, BrandSource members are welcome to stop by Fisher & Paykel’s (F&P’s) newly remodeled Experience Center on East 58th Street in Manhattan.
Located in Suite 361 of The Architects & Designers Building, the newly reimagined display space features luxury kitchen vignettes created by top kitchen design firms.
According to F&P, a BrandSource LUXE appliance partner, the updated Experience Center reflects the New Zealand-based company’s brand ethos of luxury design inspired by nature. Guests will find an expansive presentation of ultra-premium appliances that combines “cutting-edge technology and performance, elemental materials and a deep understanding of the rituals of contemporary living,” the manufacturer said.
The 6,400-square-foot showroom was designed by F&P’s Global Design Team in partnership with award-winning New York design firm Schiller Projects. They were assisted by a trio of kitchen design specialists — Arclinea, Henrybuilt and Space Theory — which created three main vignettes plus smaller-footprint luxury spaces. Each demonstrates the brand’s “unique approach to designing appliances that integrate seamlessly with the architecture of the home and work together as an intelligent ecosystem,” the company said.
“Our New York Experience Center deepens our connection with North America’s design community and reflects a rising demand for contemporary luxury — expressed through elevated design, performance innovation and mindfulness of the carbon impact of appliances within the home,” said F&P CEO Daniel Witten-Hannah.
In deference to the latter, 98% of the floor’s cooking space is dedicated to the brand’s expanded induction portfolio, reflecting “the growing demand for smart, sustainable solutions,” the company said.
The core vignettes include:
- A Minimal Kitchen, featuring column refrigeration and a modular induction cooktop
- A Contemporary Kitchen, anchored by a 16-foot stainless-steel island
- A Professional Kitchen, equipped with F&P’s pro-style 48-inch Series 11 induction range and 36-inch refrigerator/freezer.
There are also two compact kitchens, designed to demonstrate that “luxury is defined by consideration, not scale,” F&P said; a wine tasting and beverage center demo area that showcases how wine care solutions can be seamlessly integrated into bespoke millwork within the home; and an outdoor kitchen scenario featuring high-performance outdoor grills by F&P sister brand DCS Appliances.
Beyond the kitchen, the New York Experience Center also presents F&P’s connected approach to fabric care, as embodied by the steam-powered Series 11 Fabric Care Cabinet. Available in North America in 2027, the appliance refreshes, deodorizes, sanitizes and dries garments without chemicals or traditional dry cleaning, extending garment life and “embedding care more thoughtfully into the home,” the company said.
Drop-in visitors are welcome 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and appointments can be booked online, by calling (646) 647-4330, or by emailing nyexperiencecentre@fisherpaykel.com. Demonstrations of the live products in the showroom are also available by appointment, including Fisher & Paykel’s “Mastery of Temperature” culinary experience.
F&P began in the 1930s as an appliance importer after New Zealand native Olive Paykel eyed an American-made Crosley refrigerator in an issue of the Ladies’ Home Journal. It later turned its attention to manufacturing and design after the New Zealand government banned imports of manufactured products. The company was acquired in 2012 by China’s Haier Group, which also owns GE Appliances.
