Stafford man arrested after allegedly threatening to kill woman, stealing car

STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — A 28-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly assaulting a woman to obtain her car keys, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said Ibrahim Kamara, of Stafford, was charged with robbery, assault and battery, destruction of property, and unauthorized use of a vehicle.

According to deputies, shortly before 4 a.m. Tuesday, crews responded to reports of a disturbance in Knollwood Court.

There, the victim claimed that she had been assaulted and that Kamara stole her car after she refused to give him her keys.

She said he had asked her repeatedly throughout the night to borrow her Toyota to drive to Richmond, and when she refused, Kamara proceeded to kick the woman’s bedroom door in and began searching for the keys.

Deputies said the altercation ended in a “tug-of-war,” and he allegedly assaulted and threatened to kill her before taking the keys and driving away.

Deputies located Kamara driving the stolen car around 6:50 a.m. in Stafford, and he was taken into custody.

He is being held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail
