The Meridian native’s debut single, “Heal,” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Gospel Songs and Gospel Digital Song Sales charts.
“Jamal’s story is a testament to the power of resilience, authentic storytelling, and the enduring influence of soul music rooted in our state,” said Horhn. “By presenting him with the Key to the City, we not only celebrate his success, but honor his role as an ambassador for our state including the Capital City.”
The Key to the City will be presented to Roberts during a concert at the Jackson Convention Complex on September 19, 2025. The event starts at 7:00 p.m.
Presented by The Kirkland Group and Alcorn State University Athletics, the concert will raise vital funds to support Alcorn State student-athletes.
