According to CPD, a preliminary investigation revealed 32-year-old Walter Bethune as the suspect in connection with the shooting that resulted in the death of 54-year-old Lawrence Perry.
The shooting occurred on Wednesday at approximately 6:16 a.m.
Perry, was transported to the St. Francis hospital where he died.
CPD’s Fugitive Unit and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office located Bethune in Smiths Station and took him into custody.
He is currently being held at the Lee County Jail awaiting transportation to Columbus where he faces a murder charge.
