Columbus Fire and EMS mourn the loss of active firefighter

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Columbus Fire and EMS announced on Wednesday the passing of an active firefighter.

The local first responders are saddened to have lost one of their own.

Officials stated that they are currently working on providing grief counseling and support resources to their personnel as they grieve together as a department.

Columbus Fire and EMS expressed that this is a difficult time for the entire fire service family, and they ask the community to keep them in their thoughts and prayers.
