Starting today, the weekly checks will be sent to eligible individuals without them needing to file a claim, officials said.
Auditor of State Dennis Milligan said Act 114 of 2025 allows his office to send payments of $50 to $5,000 to verified individuals, with over 360,000 properties flagged for review.
“Thanks to the Arkansas Legislature, we’re able to begin mailing checks to people each week so long as we can prove they are owed this money,” Milligan said.
Unclaimed property can include uncashed checks, unreimbursed utility deposits, insurance proceeds and other financial items, officials said.
According to Milligan, letters notifying recipients of upcoming checks have been mailed since July 2, and the program currently applies only to individuals. Businesses, nonprofits and amounts outside the $50–$5,000 range still required to file claims online at ClaimItAR.gov.
