By rssfeeds-admin The Howard County Prosecutor’s Office announced that 36-year-old Troy Wilson was sentenced to a total of 42 years in the Indiana Department of Correction after pleading guilty on Aug. 5 to criminal confinement charges.
The charges related to an incident dating back to July 2019, when Wilson and other “associates” tortured two victims at a residence over the course of several days. Wilson admitted that he had subjected the victims to confinement and beatings before forcing them to strip and burning them, HCPO said.
Previous reporting indicates one victim was a 24-year-old male and the other was a 22-year-old woman. The two victims were also forced to point firearms at one another, which was recorded on a 42-minute video that detectives seized from Wilson’s cell phone.
Investigators later identified Wilson as the primary suspect in a separate case where officers located a man tied up in a bathtub in a residence based in downtown Kokomo. He had duct tape on his mouth and binding his wrists and ankles, police reported.
At the time, police learned the victim had been held at the residence and tortured for 11 days. HCPO said this included repeated beatings and being burned with hot water.
Wilson was one of six people who were initially charged in connection with the shooting death of Lashay Young-Beard.
