Concerns over turtle enclosure at Mall St. Vincent prompt action

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Steve Kennedy, owner of Steve’s Snaketuary, has been receiving messages regarding Mall St. Vincent’s turtle enclosure for about a year now, and has had no luck with management.

“I’ve talked to mid-level and lower-level management for this whole time. And they always say they have to go through the ranks to figure out what we need to do about the situation,” he says.

He finally decided to take the issue to social media, posting an almost ten-minute video of the enclosure and noting the turtles’ condition.

“I just got to a point where I was tired of trying to deal with things behind the scenes. So, I decided to go ahead and make it public. I figured once we made it public, something could get the ball rolling and get things done about it,” Kennedy shares.

Kennedy says he is in the process of working with Mall St. Vincent‘s management to get the turtles to a veterinarian and to make the necessary changes to their enclosure.

He also stresses the importance of having experienced professionals available.

“Have someone that is properly trained in taking care of reptiles to come and take care of those for them. Reptiles and amphibians require certain things, specific things that they need,” he explains.
