Summer heat rolls on with afternoon rain chances

The workweek and Monday is off to a very warm, muggy, and quiet start in Acadiana with temperatures in the mid to upper 70s. Highs today will near 94° with a heat index hotter than 105° in much of the area. Scattered showers and storms are expected for the afternoon and evening hours as rain chances increase to 40%.
