Shreve Library provides free back-to-school programs and resources

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — As Caddo Parish students prepare to return to the classroom, the Shreve Memorial Library is encouraging families to add a library card to their back-to-school checklist.

The card, available to anyone who lives, works, or attends school in Caddo Parish, offers access to free online learning tools, test prep resources, and language courses. Students can also use their school-issued ID numbers as virtual library cards to check out materials and access e-resources.

Among the services offered are Homework Louisiana’s free online tutoring, Mometrix eLibrary’s study guides for more than 1,400 exams, and Mango Languages’ lessons in more than 70 languages. Younger students can explore programs like BookFlix, TrueFlix, and ScienceFlix, which provide interactive educational content.

Throughout August, branches will host free back-to-school programs, including storytimes, craft sessions, trivia nights, and teen vision board workshops.
