According to the Louisiana Lottery Corporation, Gerald Morrison was a well known customer at A-1 Farms on Highway 70 Spur in Plattenville, where he eventually bought the winning Powerball lottery ticket, paying an extra $1 for the Power Play option, doubling his winnings from $50,000 to $100,000.
Morrison and his wife, Janelle, found out that he had won on Friday evening, July 25.
“I couldn’t believe it. You always hope for a win like this, but I never really thought I’d hit $100,000 in my lifetime,” said Morrison.
He reportedly intends to use part of the money for a new truck, which he’s wanted for some time, and to set aside another portion for his two grandchildren.
