FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man caught trafficking over half a million dollars worth of fentanyl through Fresno County was sentenced Monday to three years and five months in prison.
According to court documents, 26-year-old Miguel Obed Romero Reyes, of Sinaloa, Mexico, was pulled over while driving north on Interstate 5 in Fresno County in March of 2024.
Inside his car, deputies report uncovering over 200,000 fentanyl pills disguised as Oxycodone. According to officials, it only takes one of these counterfeit pills to kill.
The DA says Romero Reyes was on his way from Arizona to distribute the drug in Washington. The 48 pounds of pills seized have an estimated street value of $600,000, according to officials.
