The Mountain Home High School Navy Junior ROTC program will host its annual Cadet Leadership Training Week from July 28 to Aug. 1, offering a series of drills, competitions and leadership development opportunities for incoming and returning cadets.
The event will be held daily from 8 to 1 at the high school campus and is open to all students entering eighth grade and above, including those who are home-schooled or attend neighboring schools.
Activities will include unarmed and armed drill instruction, marksmanship, drone operations, SeaPerch robotics, and orienteering. Additional events such as paper airplane contests, Brain Brawl quizzes, and the PT/Raiders physical challenge are also planned. A daily “Cadet of the Day” award will be given, culminating in a “Cadet of the Week” honor on Friday.
Cadets will also participate in leadership forums and mentoring sessions with NJROTC staff and upperclassmen.
Organizers say the training is designed to build teamwork, discipline, and leadership skills in both academic and physical settings.
