Tropical low cools Louisiana briefly; heat returns Monday
BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — As the low pressure to our south moves onto shore into Texas by Sunday, with it goes our rain chances.

The remnants of a tropical low-pressure system are moving westward along the northern Gulf, bringing us some much-needed relief from this heat. The showers associated with this system are helping to keep us quite cool across the area. These rain chances will stick around this weekend, but as the main low pressure moves over land into Texas, our rain chances will begin to dwindle by Sunday, and with that, our temperatures will be on the rise.

Monday will mark the beginning of several days of unbearable heat and oppressive dew points. High temperatures will reach the mid-to-upper 90s, and dew points will be well into the 70s. This means the “feels like” temperatures can be around 105 degrees, if not even higher.

Tuesday, however, will be the hottest day of the week. With near-negligible rain chances, our high temperatures will likely reach the upper 90s, with triple-digit temperatures not being out of the question in some places.

Residents could see heat advisories for both Monday and Tuesday.
