FBI agents conducting operations in Baton Rouge, Oakdale

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The FBI conducted operations in Baton Rouge and the Oakdale area on Tuesday.

“The FBI conducted court authorized law enforcement activity in Baton Rouge and the Oakdale, Louisiana area today. We cannot comment further as this is an ongoing investigation,” a spokesperson from FBI New Orleans said.

The Louisiana State Police said troopers are assisting the FBI, IRS, and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in an ongoing investigation in parts of the state.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Louisiana confirmed a law enforcement operation is being conducted in the area and involves multiple agencies.

Officials added that a press conference will be held on Wednesday, July 16, at 10 a.m. in Lafayette.

No further details were released due to the active investigation.

Oakdale is a city in Allen Parish.
