STAFFORD, Va. (DC News Now) — Deputies said a woman was arrested after she got behind the wheel intoxicated and got into a car crash with a child inside.
The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) said on July 5 at 9:12 p.m., deputies responded to a single-car crash in the 2400 block of Warrenton Road. There, they saw a Kia that had overturned on the shoulder of the road.
The driver, Kaila Blackwell, 29, and her 7-month-old passenger were not seriously hurt.

Deputies said Blackwell was found to be intoxicated. She was arrested and taken to the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
She was charged with DUI, child neglect, drinking while driving, failure to wear a seatbelt and a traffic lane violation.
