(KRON) — The Vallejo Police Department announced on Thursday that its officers made a series of recent arrests involving unlicensed drivers and police pursuits using dirt bikes and all-terrain vehicles.
VPD said in an incident last Friday, “groups of four-wheelers and dirt bikers traveled along Sonoma Boulevard, treating the road as if it were an off-road trail.” Police confirmed patrol officers finally stopped the vehicles and discovered three of the suspects were unlicensed drivers. Two dirt bike riders, confirmed as Napa men, were cited and released at the scene.
Later that night, Vallejo PD said a San Francisco man driving an ATV led police on a chase after he refused to pull over for officers.
“Throughout the chase, he deliberately failed to yield at multiple stop signs, drove on sidewalks, and navigated through alleys until he reached the 600 block of Tennessee Street, which was a dead end,” said police.
All three vehicles were towed and placed on a 30-day hold, police said.
