Vallejo Police Department officers first tried to stop the white Ford Fusion on Redwood Parkway near Admiral Callaghan Lane, after a records check on the car showed it was reported stolen in an armed carjacking out of Oakland.
“Officers followed the vehicle onto westbound Interstate 80 and waited for additional units before attempting a high-risk felony stop,” VPD said. “When officers activated their emergency lights, the driver failed to pull over, accelerated to dangerous speeds, and initiated an approximately 13-mile pursuit.”
The driver disregarded public safety and committed countless traffic violations trying to evade pursuing officers, the Vallejo Police Department said. A VPD officer ultimately used a PIT maneuver to end the pursuit near Mare Island Way and Harbor Way.
The driver was arrested and taken to the Solano County Juvenile Detention Facility. The juvenile’s parents were contacted and informed of his arrest.
“The Vallejo Police Department remains dedicated to protecting our community, removing dangerous offenders from our streets, and holding them accountable,” VPD said.
