(KRON) — A 52-year-old man from Vacaville is facing 40 felony charges related to the alleged possession and distribution of child pornography after he was arrested on June 6.
In December of 2024, the Vacaville Police Department received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that the suspect, Richard Wayne Westbrook, was sharing child pornography. Detectives served a search warrant at Westbrook’s home on the 600 block of Rialto Drive in Vacaville in March and seized multiple electronic devices.
“Through months of systematic, and soul-crushing investigation, detectives were able to determine multiple files were indeed [child pornography] and associated with a variety of internet accounts that were linked to a local Vacaville address and an adult man who resided there,” the Vacaville Police Department said.
A warrant was issued for Westbrook’s arrest and he was booked into the Solano County Jail. Westbrook is being held in lieu of $500,000 bail.
