UPDATE 6/15/25, 3:45 P.M.: According to the Youngsville Police Department, the suspect in the shooting has been identified as Zachary Segura.
Officials said Segura has been charged with one count of negligent injury.
His bond has been set at 5,000.
ORIGINAL STORY: YOUNGSVILLE, La. (KLFY) — A man has been taken into custody in connection to a woman who was found shot inside a vehicle in Youngsville around 9 p.m. Saturday.
The Youngsville Police Department responded to reports of someone shot in a vehicle at the intersection of Lafayette Street (Youngsville Highway) and Copper Meadows Boulevard. Officials said when they arrived, they found a woman suffering from a single gunshot wound.
The woman was taken to a local hospital, where she is in stable condition, according to authorities.
Officials said a man was taken into custody in connection to the shooting and was booked into a Lafayette Parish jail.
