East Bay teacher’s aide charged with child pornography possession

(KRON) — An East Bay middle school teacher’s aide has been charged with possessing child sexual abuse material, the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday.

The Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office filed 20 counts against Dominic Vannucci, 25, of Discovery Bay, for possession of child pornography and annoying or molesting a child.

Vannucci is employed at Excelsior Middle School in Byron, the sheriff’s office said. Detectives notified the school and are working with administrators in the investigation.

A search warrant was executed Wednesday morning at Vannucci’s residence on the 2200 block of Breaker Court in Discovery Bay, according to authorities. The county’s Internet Crimes Against Children task force said electronic devices that contained child pornography were seized.

Vannucci is being held on a $800,000 bail.
