Armed woman sought after man shot in car near Corvallis

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Law enforcement are actively searching for a woman suspected of shooting a man in his vehicle outside of Corvallis early Saturday morning.

At around 5:30 a.m., Benton County sheriff’s deputies responded to the area of Highway 99W and Lakeside Drive on reports that a man had been shot in his vehicle.

A 911 caller also described the shooter as a short Hispanic woman with long hair.

Deputies say the woman should be considered armed and was last seen running from the scene with another Hispanic woman.

Neither have been located at this time, officials said.

The sheriff’s office is also cautioning the public not to pick up any hitchhikers in the area.

The man was taken to a hospital in Corvallis where he is currently being treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound, deputies say.
