4-year-old Jackson boy injured in accidental shooting

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police are investigating after a four-year-old was injured during an accidental shooting.

The incident occurred in the 100 block of Glenmary Street after 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18.

According to police, a four-year-old boy and a five-year-old boy were playing at a home when they found handgun in a drawer. They said the five-year-old accidentally shot the four-year-old in the ankle.

The four-year-old was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
