Biloxi woman sentenced for death of Hinds County man

HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A Biloxi woman pled guilty to first-degree murder and armed robbery in connection to the death of a Hinds County man.

WXXV reported Angel Pierce, 30, was sentenced to life consecutive to 30 years in prison.

Investigators said Cody Smith, 24, of Byram, was last seen in Harrison County and was reported missing on December 16, 2022. On April 3, 2023, his remains were found in a wooded area off Elmer Ladner Road on the coast.

Arrest warrants were issued for Pierce and Jerry Parkman, of Pass Christian, after investigators determined they were involved in the case. Parkman was already being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center on an unrelated charge.

Parkman’s trial has been set for late April 2025.
