According to Gov. Tate Reeves (R-Miss.), preliminary reports indicated that three people were injured and hospitalized in Grenada County on March 14. He said the number is expected to increase.
In Grenada County, major damage was reported in the Elliot and Gore Springs communities. A shelter has been opened at the Grenada City Auditorium.
The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) received reports that a cell entered in Issaquena County on Friday and exited the county, causing significant damage.
Damage assessments are underway for Friday’s storms. As of now, Calhoun, Carroll, Grenada, Humphreys, Leflore and Montgomery counties are reporting damage from the March 14 storms.
